The staff is hit or miss. Many of the teachers are fairly nice. Not a lot care if you are failing, at least they don't reach out to you. only one teacher I've had here has actually reached out to help me. The clubs and activities are okay but this school doesn't really care enough about the arts. There are some new buildings, including auditorium, being built and that's good. The food is better than the food at my elementary school. The vending machine has good snacks. The kids are better than the kids at a public school in my area. I feel safe enough here. There isn't a lot of diversity and this school only wants people that are advanced and fairly easy to manage. Some people on the staff I am very opposed to, especially when they don't even try to respect good students. We are younger yes and you are staff but we are impressionable human beings and some of the treatment you give us just isn't right.
I currently go to this school and I want to switch for high school. They are always stressing us out. Its super annoying and puts us way over the top to do better even when we are doing well. Its a college prep school so they expect us to act and prepare for college 7-12th grade which can be a bit too much for 7th and 8th graders at times. We as 7th and 8th graders taking the PSATS already too which is stressful and I feel like is a good experience but a bit too early for 7th graders to be taking. The events at JA are fun but the being successful part is getting on my nerves. The only field trips we go on if to colleges and everything besides dances and sports events are college or school related. Its a good experience but some of us just want to have a little fun every once in a while and fun is sometimes just ruled out in this school. I feel like they treat the A students really well and the students who struggle a bit more in school are most likely going to be humiliated since the school likes to emphasize everyone that is doing well and everyone that is doings poorly by making them go to a work zone everyday for about an hour and doing this special class everyone fears which getting a bit of extra help should be okay but JA has taught us that extra help means awfulness. I love my friends and most of the teachers are good because some of them are chill and try to help you learn which is the whole part of school. School in my opinion should be fun because you are able to go to a school and learn about all these different cool things! I would recommend this school if your student can handle a lot of pressure at times and 2-3 hours of homework a night(which isnt that bad, just be prepared to help a student a lot or do some extra work.) If you are thinking about this school though, I do suggest you go to orientations and shawdow days because this school could really fit and work for some!

I go to this school now and the teachers there could care less about who is failing! The teachers only care about the kids who have good grades because if you don't have good grades at JA then you are basically forced out. They push the kids who are doing bad out of their school so that they can have all of the prefect kids with a good IQ so that their report as a school alone is high. The only reason that they keep the kids who are better is so that they can get paid more and noticed more by their bosses. I do not recommend going here
