The food, drinks, and service were excellent. I had the babyback ribs which were fall off the bone soft and very flavorful too. For drink, I had an old fashioned. It was a little on the sweet side but not terrible. I recommend this place if you are looking for a nice but not too expensive place to hang out or enjoy dinner.
Went for Sunday brunch. Excellent food, perfect friendly service, quick seating. Definitely will return. We had the baked brie appetizer, then soup & salad w/ shrimp, a Greek salad, and breakfast bowl (grits, cheese, maple bacon, & eggs). All were great!
Came across Village Tavern and decided to give it a try. The daytime bartender was very friendly and attentive. The clam chowder was very good. Found out that happy hour was just an hour and a half away so I finished my clam chowder and decided to return later. The happy hour is great! There are $6 Tavern bites, which offer a wide selection of choices. I ordered the beef nachos and the French dip sandwich. Both were very tasty but the nachos were the better of the two. They also have drink specials but the dollar off drafts, $6 glasses of wine and $6 cocktails from premium brands. I posted some photos of the happy hour specials if you're interested.
Food was good, (fries served with the fish & chips were bad tasted like they may have been frozen rather than fresh) but no complaints about other menu items. There were 6 of us and everyone had a different entree. We were there on a Sunday evening, restaurant was not busy. Ordered the wine special of the day, 10 minutes later the server returned to tell us the last bottle had just been served to another group, then came back later to take our order and at that time informed us they were out of three of the entrees. We like the Tavern but the nonchalant attitude of our server did nothing to make us want to return.
Our meal was excellent, and the service is always great. I love going here because it's nice and quiet and you never feel rushed.I had a burger with the bacon jelly on it which was just delicious. I also had a bowl of the clam chowder which was great as well.
